End of Summer

It’s been a few weeks since I finished my contract at Weathervane Theatre in New Hampshire and I’m still having trouble wrapping my head around everything that happened this summer. The experience was an absolute whirlwind as we put together 8 shows in 11 weeks including four touring shows for young audiences. I learned so much about myself as a performer and met so many incredible people across the professional company, the interns, and the creative team. I couldn’t have asked for a better first summer post-grad. I hope to end up back at that barn someday.

Summer Update

Me, post graduation matching the flora in Washington Square Park

After a long break from posting here, I figured it was time for me to post a quick update while I had a free minute! In May I graduated with a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch and accepted a position at Weathervane Theatre in New Hampshire for the summer, where I’ll be working alongside professional actors and gaining points towards joining Equity, as well as performing four different shows for young audiences and leading theatrical workshops for the children. I’ve been here a little over a week and I’ve already learned so much, so I’m looking forward to the rest of the summer!

First Track Released from Four Years Later Cast Recording!

The first single off of the Four Years Later cast recording has been released on Soundcloud! I had the pleasure of premiering this new musical written by Ian Baxley and Payton Millet back in November and I’m so excited to share this track with you.

Four Years Later follows the story of Robin and Taylor as they attempt to reconnect four years after a tumultuous relationship and a messy breakup. In this song, the two relay the history of their relationship to Alice, a therapist, and Teddy, Robin’s nephew, in an attempt to figure out where things went wrong and who’s to blame (spoiler: it’s both of them!)

The rest of the album will be released in the new year, so keep your eyes peeled! Hope you enjoy this preview.

First Post: What I've Been Up To Recently

To start this page off, I figured I would give a quick rundown of the projects I’ve been a part of over the last several months, just for a quick overview of what I’ve been doing.

In May I finished up my third year of training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in their capstone Practicum program. This program commissions an emerging playwright to write an ensemble piece specifically for our group, which receives a full production at the end of the semester. I had the fortune of getting to perform in Millennial Pink Falcon, written by Katie Hathaway and directed by Sarah Hartmann (Associate Director, Broadway’s Anastasia).

This summer, I spent seven weeks in Amsterdam, Netherlands as a part of NYU’s International Theatre Workshop. This program involved physically based acting (Viewpoints and Early Grotowski) as well as the creation of a solo narrative piece and an image based movement piece. I also took classes in clowning, post modern dance, and Roy Hart voice work.

Me, very excited to be making my Feinstein’s/54 Below debut, October 2018

Me, very excited to be making my Feinstein’s/54 Below debut, October 2018

In September, I returned to NYU and began studying on-camera technique at Stonestreet Studios, where I spent my fall semester. I also had the pleasure of performing in Songs From Cult Classics to Benefit the ACLU at Feinstein’s/54 Below in October, as well as the new musical Four Years Later by Payton Millet and Ian Baxley in November. Four Years Later also received a cast recording, which will be released in 2019. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon!

I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in a few film shoots, which I will also post about here soon!

I’m only a couple days away from finishing up my penultimate semester at NYU and I’m preparing to transfer to NYU’s Experimental Theatre Wing in January to wrap up my training and graduate with a BFA in Drama.

Now that you’re up to date on my life, it will be significantly easier for you to keep track of me as I’ll be making more regular posts as things occur and new projects arise!

Until next time!
